AZBio Committees

Membership on AZBio Standing Committees is open to all interested employees of member organizations. Please send us an email (links below) or call 480-779-8101 if you’re interested in participating.

Events and Education Committee
AZBio events include networking and educational opportunities across Arizona as well our AZBio Signature Events. The Event Committee works together with our AZBio Supporters and Staff to create valuable educational and networking opportunities for our Arizona Bioscience community.   (This committee meets at 10:30 AM on the fourth Wednesday of each month in Phoenix and via teleconference.)

Government Affairs Committee
The Government Affairs Committee discusses public policy issues that affect our AZBio Membership. The Committee drafts position statements for review and approval by the Board of Directors, and develops strategies for the association’s advocacy activities and provides opportunities for education and access to information on key issues that affect our bioscience industry at the local and national level.  (This committee meets at 3 PM on the second Thursday of each month in Phoenix and via teleconference.)

Outreach Committee
The Outreach Committee actively promotes the benefits of AZBio membership to potential new members, and facilitates personal introductions to AZBio management.  Additionally, the Outreach Committee assists AZBio staff in soliciting sponsorships and support for signature events. (This committee meets at 1 PM on the fourth Friday of each month in Phoenix and via teleconference.)

Communications Committee
The AZBio Marketing and Communications Committee works with the AZBio staff to design, develop and produce AZBio promotional materials, press releases, advertisements and publications, either hard-copy or electronic. This includes providing input to the staff on marketing strategies and developing and editing content for AZBio Press Releases as well as working within our community to develop the resources to spread the news about our Arizona BioSciences Community across the state and across the country.  (This committee meets at 10 AM on the first Thursday of each month in Phoenix and via teleconference.)

Human Resources Council
The AZBio Human Resources Council provides an opportunity for the HR specialists in our Arizona Biosciences Community to meet and to exchange ideas and information. The HR Council plans and executes on educational events, workshops, and other opportunitiies to focus on the HR function inside our companies as well as bioscience workforce intiatives for today and tomorrow. (This council meets at 8:30 AM on the first Thursday of each month in Phoenix and via teleconference.)

AZBio Resources Network
The AZBio Resource Network is a gathering of industry experts, service providers and other key resource partners commited to supporting the growth of our Member Companies and our Arizona Bioscience Industry. Join them to get connected, share ideas, and create collaboration strategies. (This council meets at 10:30 AM on the second Friday of each month in Phoenix and via teleconference.)
