Regarding Posters:

A. Topics: Topics for posters must be directly related to the body of knowledge of biotechnology and bioscience companies. Specific possibilities might be traditional theoretical topics of a research nature, case studies or summaries, reports of bio scientific successes or milestones, reports on innovative programs of operation etc. Entries for Posters may not be advertisements of institutions as would be more typical of vendor or institution exhibits. Posters must be academic and/or professional in nature.

B. Notices of Intent: Not later than March 25, 2009, colleagues can submit a Notice Of Intent (NOI) by email to the Poster Program Director (below). Within the body of a text of an email, authors are required to submit a preliminary title, list of potential co-authors, and a brief summary of what is being proposed for poster presentation. NOI's will be reviewed by the Poster Program Director and Event Review Board for selection. Criteria for preliminary selection will include whether the proposed poster concept is germane to the biosciences and consistent with the goals of the Poster Session. Specifically excluded from consideration are entries that seem to advertise or market an institution or its programs as opposed to the consideration of concepts, operations, or case studies etc. If selected, the Poster Program Director will notify the submitting author. Directions for these must be followed strictly including word limits.

C. Proposal Summary Application: Not later than March 27, 2009, authors approved through the Notice of Intent process must submit by email the completed proposal summary to the Poster Program Director. No proposals will be accepted after that time.  Completed proposal summaries will be reviewed by the Event Review Board for final acceptance. Criteria for selection will include relevance to the biosciences body of knowledge, consistency with the goals of the session, adherence to abstract submission standards etc. Unacceptable for approval would be entries that seem to advertise or market an institution or its programs as opposed to the consideration of concepts, operations, or case studies etc. Authors will be notified by email from the Poster Program Director of official acceptance immediately upon panel approval.

D. Poster Preparations and Submissions: From proposal acceptance onward, authors are encouraged to work with the Poster Program Director (see above) regarding potential concepts and plans for posters. Questions regarding poster format and production suggestions are to be directed to the Poster Program Director. Beginning on Tuesday, April 7, 2009 at 7 am, authors must display their posters on easels provided by the conference facility. Easels will have a bulletin board style backing to which posters and materials are to be affixed.  Bulletin boards are 4ft high by 8ft wide and presenters may utilize the entire board by using multiple posters, banners, fliers, etc.   The text of an author's summary must be displayed with the poster itself.  To this end, the summary may be placed directly into the poster (preferable) or placed adjacently in some fashion.

For questions regarding the Poster Session, please contact the Poster Program Director (listed above).
