SUMMARY:Building new cells from old ones: How cells living inside other ce
lls shaped life on Earth. - Phoenix College - 3 Nov 22 18:00
DESCRIPTION:The cell is the basic building block of biology. Living things
are either single cells or are\ncollections of single cells that form mult
icellular organisms. When we look closer\, we see that\nmany individual ce
lls are actually built from combinations of more than one cell. The most\n
famous example is our mitochondria\, which is actually an old bacterial ce
ll that got inside and\nbecame part of our cells over time. Hear Dr. John
McCutcheon explain how he thinks this\nhappened and describe other example
s from various other organisms.\n\nJoin us for poster presentations and l
 ecture at Phoenix College Thursday\, Nov. 3\, 6-8:30 p.m.\n\n\n\nSpeaker:
