  Research Internship Showcase!\n\nThis marks the close of the KEYS program
 \, where KEYS interns present what they’ve learned and experienced to fr
 iends\, family\, and the academic community at a public research showcase.
 \n\n\n\nKeep Engaging Youth in Science\nOne of the core tenets of BIO5’s
  mission is the commitment to educate our next generation of scientists.\n
 \nThe Keep Engaging Youth in Science (KEYS) program offers summer research
  internships to top performing high school students who have a strong inte
 rest in pursuing advanced education and training in the bioscience or biom
 edical fields.\n\nWith support from many UA partners and program sponsors\
 , the BIO5 Institute and the College of Pharmacy's Southwest Environmental
  Health Sciences Center (SWEHSC) lead the KEYS program.\n\nKEYS interns en
 roll with no tuition fees in the University of Arizona during their summer
  break for a week of intensive laboratory and science literacy training\, 
 followed by six weeks in the laboratory of a renowned UA researcher. The p
 rogram concludes with the KEYS Research Showcase\, where students present 
 their work to their families\, UA scientists\, community leaders\, and pro
 gram sponsors.\n\nMany KEYS alumni have reported that the experience chang
 ed their lives and taught them that they are capable of making important c
