About our Speakers

Barby Ingle and her husband, Ken Taylor, live in Apache Junction, AZ. They have been together for over 20 years and married in 2007. They love warm weather, working on healthcare access and patient advocacy efforts, and traveling the state to talk to patients and caregivers to find out the needs of Arizonans. Barby has lived in Arizona since 2003. Due to chronic and rare medical conditions, Barby and Ken do not have children of their own. They do have seven nephews and one niece.

She received a Bachelor of Science in Social Psychology from George Mason University. She went on to open her cheerleading and dance training company immediately after graduation in 1994, and Washington State University hired her as their first spirit program coach. At WSU, she leads her dance team to the top 10 and her cheer team into the top 5 in the country. She developed a rare chronic pain condition, Algoneurodystrophy, in September 2002 and was disabled due to the symptoms. She began infusion therapy in December 2009, which she continues to receive 3-5 times a year for pain management.

My name is B.J. Reed. I have spent the majority of my life in Arizona, aside from several years residing on US coastlines as a Naval Officer’s spouse, during which time I volunteered and organized events for military families. Upon returning to Arizona, I earned an honors degree in Elementary Education with a minor in Sociology from Arizona State University.

My professional experience spans multiple fields, including roles such as corporate meeting planner coordinating national sales meetings, marketing specialist in the airline industry, elementary school teacher (grades 1–4), and co-owner of a travel company developing vacation packages for Convention and Visitor’s Bureaus nationwide. Additionally, I dedicated twelve years to marketing at the medical device company CR Bard (now Becton Dickinson). While at CR Bard, working in the Oncology Marketing department, I discovered that I had an aggressive breast cancer. What a wonderful support system to have while going through this frightening ordeal. The encouragement I received, and amazing knowledge shared, helped me through the process and successful recovery. I have been cancer free for five plus years!

Currently retired, I serve as a full-time caregiver for my husband as he manages Parkinson’s Disease. I am also a member of the Board of Directors for Rock Steady Boxing, an organization that provides specialized physical therapy programs for individuals with Parkinson’s Disease.

Representative Stacey Travers represents District 12 in the Arizona House of Representatives which includes Ahwatukee, South Tempe, West Chandler, and part of the Gila River Indian Community.

She serves as House Minority Whip and as Co-chair of the Arizona Legislative Bioscience & Healthcare Caucus.

Stacey is a United States Army veteran, scientist, and mom. She I was born in the birthplace of democracy, Athens, Greece, to a U.S. military father and Greek mother. Coming from a family with a history of military service, she wanted to serve our country and did so proudly as a Russian Intelligence Interceptor in the U.S. Army. After leaving the Military I came to Arizona to study at the University of Arizona in Tucson and earned her Bachelor of Science in Geosciences. She works to support the people of LD12 and to get government working again while  creating a bright and sustainable future for hard-working Arizona families.
