TUCSON, Ariz., December 12, 2023 – Critical Path Institute (C-Path), a leader in advancing rare disease research, is pleased to announce a data collaboration with PicnicHealth, a patient-centered healthcare evidence generation company.
This strategic data sharing partnership will leverage the extensive capabilities of C-Path’s Rare Disease Cures Accelerator-Data and Analytics Platform (RDCA-DAP ®), renowned for its expertise in data aggregation and analysis. Paired with PicnicHealth’s commitment to patient-driven insights, the collaboration aims to streamline and enhance the research process for rare diseases. The synergy between RDCA-DAP and PicnicHealth promises to unlock valuable data, fostering collaboration among researchers, clinicians and patient communities.
RDCA-DAP provides an efficient and standardized infrastructure to support and accelerate rare disease characterization targeted for clinical development. Additionally, the platform advances best practices to support the rigorous conduct of natural history studies, with attention to established data quality standards, in order to be most useful to clinical trial design and regulatory review. It includes a robust, integrated database and analytics hub that allows for the aggregation of rare disease data from various sources and the efficient and effective interrogation of that data.
“We are excited to receive this EHR dataset from PicnicHealth,” said Alexandre Bétourné, Pharm. D., Ph.D., RDCA-DAP Executive Director. “Pooling real-world data from multiple sources enables us to amplify RDCA-DAP’s impact in rare disease research and brings us closer to improved treatments and outcomes.”
In October 2023, it was announced that PicnicHealth acquired AllStripes, a platform dedicated to generating evidence about the rare disease community, as part of a strategic consolidation aimed at rapidly evolving the life sciences landscape.
Nancy Yu, Strategic Advisor at PicnicHealth and former CEO of AllStripes expressed also her enthusiasm for the project, “The RDCA-DAP mission aligns seamlessly with our mission to empower patients and drive progress in the rare disease space. Together with C-Path’s RDCA-DAP, we are poised to make significant strides in understanding and addressing these often-overlooked conditions.”
