A collaboration between the State Bio Associations of the Rocky Mountain Southwest, White Hat 2016 will connect investors with 32 exciting companies in the fields of Diagnostics, Therapeutics, Medical Devices, and Health IT.

Chandler, Arizona —-The Arizona Bioindustry Association (AZBio) today announced the line-up of life science companies that will present to investors from across the U.S. at the White Hat Life Science Investor Conference in Phoenix, Arizona on September 21 and 22, 2016.

“The West was won by innovators, investors, and prospectors who understood the value of discovery and accepted the challenge of investing in new frontiers,” shared Joan Koerber-Walker, president & CEO, of the Arizona Bioindustry Association (AZBio). “Today innovators across the Rocky Mountain Southwest Region are pioneering new ways to prevent disease and improve health, provide more timely and accurate diagnostics, personalize therapies so that the right patient gets the right treatments at the right time and has the best possible outcome, engineer medical devices that improve the quality of life, and utilize the best of information technology to promote healthy behaviors, manage disease, and improve access to care.   The companies presenting at White Hat provide great examples of how these healthcare innovations can make life better.”

Attendees at the White Hat Life Science Investor Conference (White Hat 2016) will have the opportunity to meet these companies and connect with leaders from across Arizona’s life science and business sectors at the AZBio Awards on the evening of Wednesday, September 21st,.  The experience continues on September 22nd with a full day of company presentations and plenary sessions featuring experienced life science investors, foundations, and serial entrepreneurs including:

The November elections will be here before we know it.  The closing Plenary Session of the day will feature a conversation with Jeanne Haggerty, Senior Vice President, Federal Government Relations of the Biotechnology Innovation Organization (BIO) in Washington, DC.  Prior to joining BIO, Haggerty served as a Professional Staff Member for the House Committee on Energy and Commerce. She also worked for Senator Chuck Grassley (R-IA) on the Senate Aging Committee, for the Senate Finance Committee and in government relations at Epstein, Becker and Green.

White Hat 2016 begins at the peak of Arizona Bioscience Week on Wednesday, September 21, 2016 with an Innovation Showcase featuring rapid fire presentations from ten life science companies that illustrate the breadth of life science innovation happening in Arizona including Arizona Bioscience Company of the Year, GlobalMed, the largest private umbilical stem cell bank in the world, Cord Blood Registry® (CBR), IMPACT Award winner, Pinnacle Transplant Technologies, and 2016 Venture Madness winner NuvOx Pharma.
