Noted Academic And Scientific Leader Joins Grand Canyon University

Dr. Michael Mobley to lead the expansion of the university’s integrated STEM programs

PHOENIX, June 27, 2013 /PRNewswire/ — Dr. Michael Mobley, a prominent academic and scientific leader, has joined the staff of Grand Canyon University.Dr. Mobley was appointed Executive Director of GCU’s new Center for Integrated Science, Engineering and Technology.  The Center will drive the expansion of the university’s computer science, applied math and science curriculum, and lay the foundation for a new college. He brings more than 30 years of health care, industrial and academic experience to his new post.

Most recently, Dr. Mobley served as associate director and industrial liaison of The Biodesign Institute at Arizona State University, where he played a pivotal role in the formation of the research institute. Before that, he was industrial liaison in ASU’s Office of the Vice Provost for Research, promoting technology transfer, and mining and marketing new technology opportunities.

He is the co-founder of eHealth Nexus, a health information services company; former chair of the Arizona BioIndustry Association; and a member of the AZ Bioscience Roadmap Steering Committee.

Dr. Mobley also brings significant industrial experience to GCU from more than two decades of work at the Procter & Gamble Company, where he served as Director of Research and Development, managing large divisions in the company’s Health Care and Skin Beauty Care sectors. During his tenure, he led the globalization of the company’s oral care product innovations and helped bring products such as Crest Tartar Control, Maximum Strength Pepto-Bismol and Olay Total Effects to market.
