NasseoLogoThe Arizona Bioindustry Association (AZBio) today announced that Nasseo, Inc. has been selected to receive a 2013 AZBio Fast Lane Award from the Arizona Bioindustry Association in recognition for its efforts to create a next generation of dental and orthopedic implant products. NASSEO will be honored by bioindustry leaders at the Phoenix Convention Center during the 2013 AZBio Awards on October 10, 2013.

The AZBio Fast Lane Award recognizes the select few companies that have achieved outstanding milestones in the past 18 months. “NASSEO co-founders Dr. Garrett Cale Smith (a Stanford BioDesign Fellow) and Kayvon Pourmirzaie, JD have a lot to smile about. With the experience built through three prior startups between them, a growing patent portfolio and a winning biotechnology platform, they are making great progress,” shared AZBio president and CEO Joan Koerber-Walker.  “From product design to funding next steps, NASSEO is speeding up and moving into the Fast Lane.”

Nasseo, Inc. is a start-up medical device company developing an implant surface modification technology to provide patients and clinicians with the next generation of dental and orthopedic implants. The company is well on its way to securing a Series A investment round in the Fall of 2013 and recently received a positive first response from the FDA paving the way for FDA clearance by the end of 2013. In addition to the TiArray™ Dental Implant, NASSEO is developing a spinal implant that integrates NASSEO’s same core implant surface modification technology. With guidance from industry thought leaders from around the world and under leadership of its CEO, Garrett Cale Smith, (Stanford BioDesign Fellow) NASSEO is poised for success.
