Biotechnology is changing the way we live, how we think about health, how we combat disease, how we create a more sustainable planet and so much more. It’s an exciting field in an exciting time and Arizona is a place where bioscience companies, research institutions, and the companies that support them come to engage, connect, collaborate and grow.
Engagement starts with commitment. At AZBio, we are committed to supporting the growth of Arizona’s bioscience community and the companies and individuals who make it great. Our ability to connect and support our community is built on the support and resources that are shared by our AZBio Member companies just as their leadership guides us.
Building a bioscience business or a bioscience community begins with engagement but accelerates when engaged members connect. That’s why we are bringing members together regionally each month at Beer and Bio events, reaching out to members to share their expertise through member education, and hosting the AZBIO AWARDS & EXPO October 13 – 14, 2011. Each of these events create opportunities to share ideas, make connections, and learn what we need to move forward… faster.

When we work together we can do more, leverage resources, and increase our impact. That is why AZBio partners with BIO in Washington, D.C., with the Arizona Commerce Authority on a statewide basis, with regional economic development agencies including GPEC, TREO, and NACET, committed organizations like the Flinn Foundation and hundreds of committed Arizonans from our Member Companies. Together we are building one of Arizona’s most vibrant industries and it’s making an impact. In 2010, Arizona’s bioscience industry grew jobs by 7% while the overall state economy experienced a 11.1% decline.
In times like these, innovation and growth deserves recognition. This October at the AZBio Awards we will be shining a spotlight on the companies and individual leaders who are making things happen. Click here to place a nomination and shine a spotlight on our industry leaders. But it does not stop there. New engagement, connections, collaborations and growth will be occurring the next day at the AZBio Expo. It’s your opportunity to join Arizona’s bioscience community in moving us all forward…faster and to demonstrate how Business + BioScience is creating a Better Arizona.
