How well they work depends on you.

The Quest for Capital

The 2014 Arizona Bioscience Roadmap Report identifies

improving access to capital as a key priority

in growing Arizona’s Life Science Industry.

Arizona has made impressive progress in the growth of its life science industry over the last decade.  To continue to build momentum, investments (both public and private) are required to fuel future growth.

Here’s what was reported for 2013:

  • National Institutes of Health Funding: $182 million, 0.82% of U.S. total (2013) (Source: page 6)
  • Bioscience Venture Capital: $37 million, 0.38% of U.S. total (2013) (Source: page 6)
  • Arizona  ranked 15th in population or approximately 2% of the total US population in 2013.  (Other states at 2% – Washington, Massachusetts, and Indiana) (Source: Census Estimates 2013)

Growth requires capital, either from investment & financing or operations. It’s something every business owner knows.

Here is what AZBio and our partners are doing to address the need for growth capital and here’s how you can help:

Investment & Financing

Investment has many forms that come into play at different stages of your company’s life cycle.  Investments fall into two primary categories, non-dilutive (i.e. grants and loans) and dilutive (equity based investments).
