The Power in Showing Up

Last week on January 18th, I had the opportunity to join our Arizona Bioscience Community for the celebration and dedication of expanded facilities at the Arizona Center for Innovation at the U of A Tech Park in Tucson.  It was wonderful to see industry leaders and partners from across the State  of Arizona take the time to connect and celebrate this new milestone in AzCI’s growth and to learn about the companies that are supported and make a home there.  Together they are building businesses, creating  jobs, and launching technologies  that will lead to new innovations.  It all starts when we choose to show up.

One if the most important things we can do as individuals and as an industry is to show up.  When we come together,  we have the opportunity to make connections, share ideas, find new partners and expand our resources through collaboration.

Our AZBio committees have been hard at work developing opportunities for you to show up too.  From educational events that will be held monthly across the state to networking events designed to help you engage and national events connecting you with leaders across the country – there are many opportunities to find the event that works best for you and the achievement of your business  goals.

In April, AZBio goes to Washington, D.C. for the BIO Fly-in.  This is our opportunity to let our leaders know what we need from them to keep things moving in the right direction here in AZ and across our industry.

Planning has begun for the Arizona Pavilion at the BIO International Convention in June.  This is another opportunity for your company to show up – on the walls of the pavilion – in the partnering session meetings, at educational sessions and at networking sessions where you can connect with leaders from across the world of the biosciences. David Drennon and the team at the Arizona Commerce Authority are leading the  charge.  Contact us at AdvancingBio@AZBio.org for ways to bring your team into the spotlight.

Closer to home, the AZBio gang will be gathering on the links at the beautiful Stone Creek Golf Club for our 1st  Annual Gold Outting “Fore AZBio” it’s a great way to connect with your community, support AZBio and have some fun too!

And don’t forget – there are opportunities to connect THIS WEEK as the U of A kicks off its Living to 100 series in Tucson, AZBio hosts educational sessions and Beer & Bio up in Flagstaff with NACET on Wednesday and the Open House at the new Center for Entrepreneurial Innovation at GateWay Community College on January 26th.  The AZBio Board of Directors will be showing up Thursday Night.  We hope you will too.
